And every time I try
Not to rush down every bite
“This time” I think
“This time, will finally
Be the one when I
With grace and cool nonchalance
Sample just a tiny slice…”
And yet, here we are,
Once more a servant of desire,
There are no glasses of milk big enough
To quench this rampant fire,
She calls to me again
In words so tangible and sweet,
There’s nothing I can do to fend off
This total, heavenly defeat.
