1
The stones are quiet
Gently remembering what
Was
The heat from the day’s sun
Still lingers on lichens
And moss
2
The trees sway, reaching their branches
Toward the moon
She reminds me of you
3
Patrolling the perimeter
Another interloper makes an
Unscheduled appearance
Scurrying through tunnels of light
4
It is too quiet
And yet, not quite enough
For brains like ours
With scars like ours
But here we find
Calm
5
Rays glinting on the edges
Unknowable forces acting upon
Everything
Anything
All at once
